ABOUT US

First a bit of history
Hallerud farm and its owners have for more than 5 generations lived on tourism as a source of income. The first cottage plot was rented out as early as 1890. This plot and 65 other fixed plots can be found here today. In the 1930s, KNA wanted a campsite here at Hallerud. In collaboration with landowner Hans Auden Mærli, they established the area we use for Glamping today. This campsite ceased when the Second World War broke out and was not started up again by Mærli. In all years, all available rooms or houses have been rented out to holiday guests on the farm.
In 1961, Alfhild and Hans Hallerud started Hallerud camping place where Hallerud bathing place is today. They operated this until 1977. Then the campsite was closed down. The cafe/kiosk and operation of the bathing area continued until 1984. Then the bathing area was taken over by the former Spydeberg municipality and the cafe/kiosk was closed down.
They also established a cottage field consisting of 66 fixed plots.
Hallerud cultural centre
In 1996, Tove and Tore Jan Karlsen started the Hallerud cultural centre. Here Gro Hoff Stenerud worked with rose painting. There were ceramics from Cecilie Haaland here and lots of other applied art. A number of different events were also organized which eventually became quite popular among the visitors. In 2004, the cultural center was closed as it was and it was started up with, among other things, scrapbooking equipment in the same premises. The name was continued by Trude Hallerud and is a well-known name in scrapbooking.

Hallerud Farm
Hallerud farm was taken over in 2023 by Christina Kirkeland and Ole Tomas Hallerud. We have a desire to be able to give our visitors and guests the unique atmosphere, the surroundings and the great experiences the area around Lyseren has. Long before we took over this gem of a place, we had many plans for what we would be able to offer here. We started Stallkafeen in January 2024. It was also furnished so that it could be rented out for parties, conferences, meetings, etc. In June 2024, our first glamping tent was set up at Sætra. A sheltered gem right on the water's edge. During the next year, this area and our homestead Kleiva will be made ready for accommodation and perhaps more possibilities for function rooms.
